Description

The City is working to reduce food waste by engaging directly with residents in a free, seven-week course that teaches ways to save food and track the amount that is wasted. The challenge will take place during the summer of 2023. The challenge will combine two programs that the City has hosted in the past: a food waste challenge and backyard composting workshops. The first portion of the program will follow the format of the 2021 Food Too Good to Waste (FTGTW) challenge by providing weekly activities and tips on reducing food waste. The second component of the challenge will follow the format of the 2022 backyard compost workshops by offering a hands-on class teaching methods for backyard composting. Rather than two separate programs, the composting workshops will be an activity during one week of the FTGTW challenge.
