2022 Backyard Composting 101 Program

The Garbage Program used 2022 grant funding from Ramsey County to promote the use of backyard and drop-off site composting through educational events and distribution of compost bins. The target audience was determined based on resident proximity to food scraps (organics) drop off sites, which included North End, Thomas-Dale/Frogtown, Greater East Side, and West Side. Additionally, outreach was targeted at: (1) Young Families with Children (2) Households further than 5 miles from a food scraps (organics) drop off site.
